Madeline's Birthday - Part 3: Presents!

Thanks to everyone for all the great gifts!  I am having such a great time playing with all my new toys.  (It sure beats all those garbage trucks Bubby has around here!)  And I'm looking pretty cute in all my new clothes, too!

I had lots of help from Bubby, Aiden, and Ethan to open my gifts.  I couldn't have done it all alone anyway, so I'm glad they got to have fun too!

Madeline's Birthday - Part 2: My Friends & Family

I'm such a lucky girl to have so many wonderful family and friends!  I'll dedicate this post to all those people who made my birthday party so special.  But first... a few pictures of me!  After all, I was the guest of honor.  Mommy bought me this adorable little purple dress, so after Aunt Emmy got me all dressed (and had to put my shoes back on me about a half-dozen times because I think it's just really funny to take them off!) I posed for a few pictures!

Grangie was drinking a Diet Coke while waiting for the party to start.  Mommy wanted a picture of me in my chair.  I wanted Grangie's Diet Coke.  So Grangie and I made a deal.  I'd sit in the chair and drink her Diet Coke, and Mommy could take all the pictures she wanted!

Finally, Mommy put me in my high chair and got me some food!  Mmmm.... chicken strips!  I just love chicken.  I think I ate two entire strips!  It's not easy keeping up these cute little rolls and chubby cheeks!

I just love cheering for myself.  I'm probably clapping here because either I heard someone say my name or because I fed myself a bite.  It's the little victories in life - I like to celebrate them all!  So as everyone says when I clap, "Yay, Madeline!"  (Hey, my pediatrician told Mommy that it's a sign of future good self esteem!)

Those balloons made my hair tingle!  Look how it's all sticking straight up!  I was giggling at it!  I'm just such a happy baby big girl!

I'm pretty sure this picture was taken after I opened my last present and Bubby told me there were no more.  Shocked.  No more?  Wow, that went fast.  Of maybe I'm in shock because my hair bow is in my hair and I just realized it.  Usually I pull it out as soon as Mommy gets it in there!  I guess I was slacking!

I just love my Mommy!  I don't have too many pictures with her, so we'll keep this one!

And now, for my party guests.... Aunt Lori came to my party and brought my cousin, Ethan, who you'll see later in a picture with Bubby.  And my Uncle Kent was there, too.

Here's baby Sawyer!  He had his first birthday in July.  He's my cousin - His Mommy, Janice, and my mommy are first cousins.

And of course, there's Aiden, Bubby's best friend!  His mommy, Mrs. Erin, came too!  I get to go to Aiden's birthday party in a few weeks.  I'm so excited!

Here's Agnes Mae and Mr. Ryan.  I can't wait until Agnes and I get to play together and have tea parties.  It's going to be so much fun!  She lives in our neighborhood, and our moms are great friends, so I know I'll be seeing lots of her!

And baby Cullen came, too, with his parents Mrs. Gina and Mr. Richard.  It was his first birthday party to ever go to!  They also live in our neighborhood, so I know we'll have many playdates in the future too!

The big boys (Ethan and Aiden) hung out in Bubby's room to play.  They played so well and were super good!  Bubby is getting to be really nice about having friends over and sharing his toys and his room.  Mrs. Bridget got some super cute pictures of the three of them!

Oh, I just love my Daddy!

More of Uncle Kent with my Nanny!  I'm so glad they were able to be there!  I love them!

I also want to thank those who we didn't get pictures of..... Grangie and Paw-Paw Mike, Aunt Barbara, Aunt Jeanette, Julie, Katherine, Jena, Shaina, Mrs. Erin, Mrs. Bridget, Papa, Aunt Michelle, and Grandpa and Mrs. Judy..... thanks to all of you for coming to celebrate my birthday and make it a special day!

Madeline's Birthday Party - Part 1: The Decor and Food

[A BIG thank you to Mrs. Bridget, Mommy's friend, and her husband, Mr. Ryan, for taking some fabulous pictures at my party!  It really helped Mommy out so she could enjoy the day!  We appreciate it!]

My birthday party was originally scheduled for Labor Day Weekend, but Mommy and Daddy had to reschedule it because of Tropical Storm Lee.  It's okay though, because as you've seen through the other posts by Bubby's written, I got to have lots of little celebrations!  But this Saturday was, as Bubby called it, my "big party"!  Mommy and Daddy, with help from Grangie and Paw-Paw, and of course my Bubby, worked hard to give me a great party!  And it was just that.  It was fantastic!

Grangie and Paw-Paw bought a bunch of decorations a while back in anticipation of my first birthday party.  They looked great hanging around our house!  Everything was so festive and girly!  Just like me.  ;)

Mommy brought my little pink chair into the living room.  I'm pretty sure this is my throne, but Mommy doesn't like princess-y stuff, so we'll just say it was my present opening spot.  (Shh!  Don't tell Mommy!)  It was pretty cute there, banner and balloons and all, so I felt pretty special!  Daddy and Bubby chose the balloons for me that morning, so of course Bubby gave me some green balloons mixed in.

Mommy's not real big on fluffy or frilly stuff, but she's starting to come around.  She tries to get me to wear bows in my hair, but I always pull them out.  It makes everyone laugh so much, so it's just a game for me.  But when Mommy took me shopping for a few more party supplies, Mrs. Erin joined us and put this little hat on me.  I liked it, so Mommy got it!  It is pretty cute!

The plates Mommy chose were so cute.  And so appropriate because she made me the cutest little cupcakes!

Bubby made this sign for me on my actual birthday last weekend, and he insisted that we save it for my party.  It's been hanging in our living room all week.  I made sure Mommy gave it a special place of prominence at my party.  After all, Bubby made it for me!

Cupcakes... oh, glorious cupcakes!  They were all so cute!  Pearls and butterflies and flowers and ladybugs.... chocolate and vanilla..... purple and pink.... all perfect!

Mommy says you can't have a Southern birthday party without some good ole Blue Bell Ice Cream... it's a Southern staple... and it's de-lish!  Love this picture!

My birthday cake, the one you'll see me smash up in a later post, was a ladybug!  Mommy did such a great job.  I love the giant "1" candle next to it!  The table of desserts was so cute... tons of cupcakes, my cake, and a big silver tub of ice cream cups!

And the food.  We had chicken strips from Raising Canes (with their addictive sauce, of course!), asparagus roll sandwiches (Thanks, Aunt Barbara!), chicken salad and pimento cheese sandwiches (Thanks, Grangie, Paw-Paw and Aunt Emmy for helping make all the sandwiches!), a veggie tray, and several chips and dips.  (Thanks Poppa for the drinks.)  It was all so yummy!

So that was the food.... More from the party to come!
