Our New Deck

Daddy spent several weeks at the end of last summer building a deck and pergola in our backyard.  We hung our big wooden swing and Madeline's baby swing on it.  There's also a little gated area off the side for Sparky so he can be put away when we are playing outside or when we have company.  It's all pretty sweet!  Well, this past weekend, Mommy and Daddy finally picked out some furniture for it!  And Mommy found a hint through Pinterest to use painting drop clothes for outdoor curtains - a cheap solution that looks great and will help block some direct sunlight at certain times of the day!  Madeline has her little swing, but this weekend I got to pick out a new one at Toys R Us -- a tire swing!  We have one at school and I love it.  So Daddy hung that one for me too!  While Madeline was napping this afternoon, Mommy and I sent outside for her to take a few pictures and I got to swing!

King of the Hill!

Saturday we had a giant load of mulch delivered - 5 yards!  It's for our playground to make the ground soft for me and Madeline.  So Daddy and I got hard to work Sunday moving it all to our backyard!  I even had my shovel and wheelbarrow to help!  And my awesome rubber boots -- I've been begging for a pair and Mommy finally found some for me at Target!  Oh, and of course I had to set up my cones around the work site!  I worked really hard for almost three hours!  All on my own, I filled and hauled six of my wheelbarrows FULL of mulch!  Daddy appreciated all my help so much!

Quack! Quack!

Last week the weather was gorgeous!  We got lots of outside time when Mommy got home from work.  Our neighbors, the Blacks, even joined us a few times.  This particular day we had some other visitors, too.  Some ducks!  Bubby, Sofia, and Naomi fed them bread.  Mommy and Mrs. Amy held me and Julia while we just pointed saying "Quack Quack!"  And our house isn't even near water.  I guess they were lost.

And of course we spent lots of time decorating our entire driveway with sidewalk chalk!
