Our Happy Face Pumkin

The day after we visited the Pumpkin Patch, I was very ancy to carve my pumpkin.  I wanted to make a "happy face" on it.  Plus, I was very intrigued by the "junk" Grangie told me was inside.  I wanted to see for myself.  So after lunch at Grangie's and Paw-Paw's house, we went outside to carve our pumpkin.

First, Mommy and I drew the face on the pumpkin with a marker so we'd know what parts to cut out.

Then she cute a lid off the top so we could get the junk out.  It looked pretty gross!

Mommy told me to reach inside and pull out some junk.  I did not like that at all!  I told her she would have to do it.

Once Mommy had the pumpkin all cleaned out, she let me help her cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth for the happy face!

I started losing interest pretty quickly.  I was more interested in the junk, especially when I realized it had seeds!  Of course I thought I had to plant them.  So I got my shovel, put them in my hole I'm always playing in, and covered 'em up with dirt!

UPDATE: The seeds are growing!!  Like crazy!  Within a week, we had 4"-6" tall plants!  No watering.  No TLC.  In fact, I've played around in the hole with my shovel since I planted them.  They must be some really hearty plants!
