Jack-o-Lantern Treats

Yesterday after lunch, while Madeline was napping, Mommy called me into the kitchen. She asked if I wanted to help her make Halloween treats for Play-n-Pray. Of course I wanted to help! I ran to grab my stool and came right back. Earlier in the week we'd bought some bags of candy disks, tiny plastic (shot) glasses, and little bitty spoons, but I didn't know what we were doing with them. Mommy was looking in the pantry for something, but couldn't find it. She told me she didn't have everything we needed so we wouldn't be able to make the treats. I got really sad and worried because now I wouldn't have treats for my playgroup! I asked Mommy to take me to the store to get what we were missing (a plastic squeeze bottle and orange food coloring). But Madeline was napping so we couldn't leave. As soon as I heard Madeline make some noise I ran straight for the van. We could go to the store now and my treats for my playgroup would be saved! There was no telling me no at that point. So Mommy got Madeline in the van and off to WalMart we went. We returned home with two things: a plastic squeeze bottle and orange food coloring.

So we set back at making the treats. We melted the green and black candy melts in the squeeze bottles. Mommy used the green to make "pumpkin stems" and the black the draw Jack-o-Lantern faces one the insides of all the cups. I helped her by handing each cup to her. Then she got out a big bowl and poured lots of milk into it. She added orange food coloring and instant pudding mix (vanilla). I got to stir it all together! Then we poured the pudding into each of the cups.




Once they were all filled and the pudding had a chance to set up for a bit, we added the pumpkin stems on top and a little spoon in each one.








And that finished off the little Jack-o-Lantern treats for my playgroup!

Halloween Breakfast

Mommy and I made some special Halloween pancakes for me to enjoy for breakfast this week. There are white ghosts, orange pumpkins, and black kitty cats!

Yea Bulldogs!!

"Daddy Jer" had a meeting for work in Ruston last Friday. As it turned out, that was Homecoming weekend at Louisiana Tech. So Mommy and Daddy packed me and Madeline (and all our stuff!) up, and braved the road trip to Ruston. We were both excellent travellers! Mommy had told me we were going to Ruston to stay in a hotel and go to a football game. This conversation repeated itself all the way to Ruston, something like this:

Me: Where's the hotel?
Mommy: In ruston.
Me: Where's ruston?
Mommy: In Louisiana.
Me: Where's Louisiana?
Mommy: Right here. Everywhere. You're in Louisiana right now.
Me: Then where's the hotel?

We arrived in Ruston in time for Daddy's meeting. We hung out on campus for a while, then checked into the hotel. We headed out to get some dinner, and ended up at Mr. Peter's and Mrs. Marty's house. We had a yummy dinner with them and a great visit. Saturday morning we took pictures with Mr. Matt and Mrs. Chelsea (can't wait to see how those turned out!). After lunch we went out to the tailgate area of the football game to see some of Mommy's and Daddy's friends. Mommy and Madeline went back to the hotel while Daddy and I were at the football game. We had a great time!

If you ask me today about the football game, here's how that conversation usually goes:

You: Hey William, where did you go in Ruston with Daddy Jer?
Me: To a football game!
You: What did eat at the football game?
Me: A hotdog!
You: What did you see at the football game?
Me: Pretty girls!
You: What were the pretty girls doing?
Me: Dancing!
You: Really? What were they saying?
Me: Yea Bulldogs! Touchdown!

Yep. I had fun watching the football game!

Madeline's 1st Carousel Ride

Daddy and Mommy took me and Madeline to the Mall of Louisiana a few weeks ago. I got to take Madeline on her first carousel ride with "Daddy Jer"! I chose the reindeer for our ride.

Madeline's Baptism

Madeline's Baptism was on Saturday, October 9, at St. Jude here in Baton Rouge. Father Trey presided over it. I was very curious about what was going to happen. We all went to Mass together. A lot of our family was there, too. Madeline wore a pretty white gown. Mommy told me that I wore the same one for my Baptism and so did Mommy! After Mass, we all gathered in the front for Madeline's Baptism. I got to stand in the front with Mommy, Daddy, and Madeline's Godparents, Uncle Donald and Aunt Emmy. I watched the entire time with very inquisitive eyes.

Father Trey asked everyone to make the sign of the cross on Madeline's forehead.

Then they all had to put their hands on her.

Then Fr. Trey poured water over her head.
She was really good and didn't cry at all.

Then Fr. Trey gave us a candle for Madeline to symbolize the light of Christ in her heart.

When it was over, he told me I could blow the candle out.

After her Baptism, we all went to Grangie's and Paw-Paw's house for a yummy dinner. Mommy made a special cake for the celebration. It had a lot of Jesus' (crosses) on it. It was yummy!

Visit from Aiden

My friend, Aiden, and his mommy, Mrs. Erin, came over and spent the afternoon with us. Mrs. Erin enjoyed cuddling Madeline and visiting with Mommy. Aiden and I had a great time playing. We played for over 3 hours, giggling and talking the whole time. We spent the entire time in my bedroom playing with all my toys. Here are before and after pictures of my room:

Surprise Visit from Nanny & Parin (Kent & Emily)

Last weekend, Parin and Aunt Emmy surprised us! They didn't tell me, or Mommy, or Madeline, or Daddy, and they flew into the airport in New Orleans to visit us for the weekend! Paw-Paw had just gotten into town, so we went to dinner at their house. After dinner, Paw-Paw left, saying he had to go get "something". Almost 2 hours later, he returned..... with Parin and Aunt Emmy!! We had a great weekend introducing them to Madeline, and letting them get to know her a little bit. We're so glad they came! We love you, Parin & Aunt Emmy!!

We miss them, but we're excited we get to see them again this coming weekend for Madeline's baptism. Just like Parin is my Godfather, Aunt Emmy is going to be Madeline's Godmother, so Madeline will call her Nanny.

Aunt Emmy fed Madeline her bottle of milk. She drinks lots of milk and sleeps a lot so that she can grown big and become a trashman like me! (This is what William tells everyone!)

Parin brought his iPad with him. It didn't take too long for me to figure out how to work it. He has a football game on it where I learned to "kick" field goals with my finger. I had a pretty good accuracy rating, too.
