Happy Birthday Grangie!

Today is Grangie's birthday.

Yesterday we went out to lunch to celebrate. So, Saturday night Mommy and I made a cookie cake for her birthday. I love helping Mommy to cook and bake! Mommy measured out all the ingredients for the cookie dough, and I got to put them into the mixing bowl!

At the store, Mommy and Daddy let me chose some icing. I chose purple because it's her favorite color. I also got to chose sprinkles and candles for the cookie cake.

Mommy got this video of me putting the chocolate chips in the mixer.
One for me, a handful for the dough. One for me, a handful for the dough......

My Christmas Wish List

Saturday afternoon Mommy and Daddy took me to Toys R Us for their Wish List event. After signing in, they gave me a hand scanner and off we went. Daddy explained that I needed to pick toys I liked to "put on my list" of things I would like to have. It didn't take me long to warm up to how this worked.

Yes, much to my Daddy's dismay, I scanned an Easy Bake Oven. I love making cakes and cookies with Mommy, so I thought it would be great to have my own oven!

I love building with Legos, so I had lots of fun in the Lego aisle with all the Duplo sets.


Lincoln Logs are another favorite. I love to build.
I only have the basic set, so I thought and expanded set would be great!

Pretty Girl

Mommy asked me to share a few pictures of Madeline with you. She's growing so fast. She's really alert lately and loves to look around and make little "coo-ing" noises. I love my Madeline!

I'm pretty sure that in this picture she's saying,

"Whoa, Mommy! What's with the flash? It sure is bright!"

And here, she's saying,
"Okay, fine Mommy, take my picture. But do it fast!"

Isn't she just beautiful?

She has a "silly goose" grin!

Helpful Lion

Last Saturday morning I went to see my doctor. I'd had a runny nose for several days and my regular allergy medicine didn't seem to be helping it very much. Dr. Daniel diagnosed me with a sinus infection and instructed Mommy and Daddy to give an antibiotic and Benadryl every night for five days.

The first day we wasted two doses because I threw up both times. Mommy finally got something in me. The next day, Grangie made a deal with me: If I took my medicine every might without screaming, crying, or throwing up, she would take me to get a green train I saw at WalMart and wanted. That night, I used my lion towel for my bath. Afraid I would throw up on her again, Mommy held the lion towel under my chin while giving me my medicine. I took it all without incident! We were both excited. And I was convinced it was because "the lion helped me"!

So every night after that, I had to have the lion towel to help me. Three more nights and no more crying! I did great!

And last night, when Paw-Paw got into town, he and Grangie took to get that green train!!

I love her pretty blue eyes!

I love Madeline's big blue eyes! When she's not in her bed, I think she needs to be awake so I 'can see her pretty blue eyes!' Last night, after her bath, Mommy took some pictures of Madeline. She's so cute!

Halloween Fun

A few days before Halloween, Daddy brought home a pumpkin. I've never carved a pumkin before, so this was a new experience for me. Mommy and I sat outside and set to work. First, I chose a picture from a book -- a big black kitty cat! [William has been obsessed with black cats in the decorations this Halloween!] We peeled the stickers out of the book and put them on the pumpkin. Then Mommy cut a hole in the top and pull all the 'guts' out. I refused to touch them because they looked gross! Then she helped me cut around the edges of the stickers to make the pumpkin into a black cat!

I was very proud of my pumpkin! We put a candle inside it, and put 'fire' on the candle every night. We had it right outside our front door!

On Halloween, Grangie, Paw-Paw, Gram, and Papa came to our house to see me in my costume. I made such a cute lion! We first headed down to Grangie and Paw-Paw's 'new house'. Mommy and Daddy wanted to take my pictures on their porch (It's decorated for Halloween!) before I decided I needed to no longer be a lion.

First Daddy took some pictures of just me.

Then they brought Madeline out. She can't sit up on her own yet, and I can only hold her well when I'm propped up with lots of pillows around us, so Mommy got the clever idea to put her in Grangie's "witch's pot" candy bowl. She did pretty well at first.


Then I realized that the thing she was sitting in was the same bowl Grangie had suckers in the day before. So of course I went looking for the suckers!


Where'd they go??

Okay, so Madeline got pretty angry being stuck in a pot. I don't blame her, either! So I insisted that I hold her to make her happy again.

I'm not sure how happy she was, but Daddy got a few shots.

And Mommy learned very fast that it's not an easy task to take pictures of two kids!

Madeline was perfectly content hanging out outside before trick-or-treating.

Aunt Shane gave me a flashlight for trick-or-treating. I had to make sure it was going to work!

Before heading out, I needed to check out the candy stash Mommy and Grangie had ready.

Time to go! So I climbed in my wagon, and Daddy, Paw-Paw, Papa, and I took off!

We took one side panel off -- easy access in and out at each house!

Sippy Cup -- Check.

Bag for Candy -- Check.

Read for Trick-or-Treating!

I was a little skiddish at first....

But I quickly warmed up and got into it!

That was fun!!

Madeline's First Tub Bath

When I had surgery on my toe, I couldn't get in the bathtub for a week because of the bandages. Instead I had to take a "sink bath." I'd sit on the counter on a towel and Mommy would bathed me with a sink full of water and bubbles. I thought it was pretty cool. Well, when we brought Madeline home, she had to take the same kind of bath. But last week, Daddy got out her bath chair at Mommy's request, and I helped him assemble it for her. So now she gets to take bathtub-baths! I love helping to give her a bath. Every night I get to pick out the color of washcloth she gets to use. And I get out a towel for her too. Then, after Mommy bathes her, I help rinse her off by drizzling water over her belly. I love helping take care of my little sister!

In honor of Election Day, I made some red and blue star pancakes for breakfast! (I have no idea what Election Day is, but I like the benefit of fun pancakes!) Mommy said a picture of my pancakes would make Uncle James smile since he's been working so hard on the campaign for Stefani Carter for Texas State House.

I helped mix the red and blue batters.







Then we made big pancakes in each color.



Then we used a cookie cutter to make a bunch of star shapes!




And thanks to Aunt Ginger for my "One day, I will vote!" t-shirt!

And even though she can't eat pancakes, Madeline was all smiles!
