I declared it "Projects Day"!

And so it was.  Friday morning, I was up bright and early at 7:15 AM, crawling into bed next to Mommy.  She was awake, but she really appeared to be enjoy the six-and-a-half minutes of quiet time she got between Daddy leaving for work, and me showing up in her bed.  We turned on Curious George, and after about three minutes, I softly said to her, "Mommy, I want to do my projects that we bought at Michaels!"

See, a few days ago Mommy had to run to pick up a few things from Michaels, so I tagged along.  Down one of the aisle we found these great $1 wooden projects.  Each came with all the pre-cut wooden pieces, glue, paint, and instructions necessary to construct "a project."  I chose a train engine, a tractor, and a birdhouse.

So I quickly got dressed, ate a little breakfast, waiting for Mommy to change Madeline's diaper when she woke up, then impatiently sat at my table anxious to begin "my work."  I chose to do the train first.  Madeline was very patient, and sat attentively in my chair watching me.  The sun was barely peaking through my blinds, it was so early!  But, we had fun, and I concentrated really hard on them!

First, we had to glue all the pieces of the train together.  I did a great job (with a little of Mommy's help)!  Then it had to dry.  While it dried, we glued together the birdhouse.

Then, it was time to paint them!  Mommy said I did a really great job, too.  I'm starting to understand that paint works best when you don't mix the colors very much and rinse of the paint brush between different colors.  However, I was painting the yellow, when a drop of red accidentally mixed in, and I discovered that it made orange!

I had a great time making projects with Mommy!

Not Feeling Too Great

Saturday afternoon, when I woke up from my nap, I wasn't feeling very well. And all I wanted to do was curl up in Mommy's lap. So, I did. And she thought I felt warm, so we used our new temporal vein thermometer to see if I had a fever. 102.5•F. Yikes! (On a side note, it's a really cool way to take my temperature.)

Mommy gave me a bath, and we curled up on the couch together. Then I told Mommy my throat was hurting and I needed some of Paw-Paw Mike's rice and gravy. We had eaten some at their house the night before, so Mommy called them. Yes, there was a little bit left over! Paw-Paw Mike and Grangie rushed right over with it, and I ate an entire bowl of it! Mommy gave me Motrin, and I got to sleep with her in their big bed. (Daddy Jer slept on the couch to give me room with Mommy. Thanks, Daddy Jer!)

We just hung out Sunday, and I was still running a fever. So Monday afternoon Mommy came home early and took me to the doctor. Dr. Fletcher said it's a sinus infection. My throat is red and irritated because of it dripping down my throat. She said I was a very good patient and gave me some suckers!

So I'm taking an antibiotic now. And Grangie made a deal with me. If I take all my medicine really good every night for ten days and I don't spit it up, I get a Henry car for my train set! I'm going to get Henry! I'm trying very hard, and taking medicine is not easy for me. But I am enjoying the popsicles! Mommy was right: they do make my throat feel better!

So far, Madeline hasn't gotten sick. Everyone is trying to keep me away from her (but it isn't working!). She is still a happy baby!

Just Hanging Out with My Sister

This afternoon, Madeline and I both woke up from our naps about the same time. Mommy was in her room ironing clothes, so we joined her. We spread a blanket on her bed, and relaxed for a snack and an episode of Curious George!

A Beautiful Evening!

Friday evening it was really nice outside, so we definitely took advantage of it, at least for as long as the sun stayed out! I played with all of my riding toys and some sidewalk chalk. I have been begging to go play with my sidewalk chalk for weeks now!

A Typical Friday Morning

As do most Friday mornings, this one started off with me and Madeline cuddling in Mommy's bed watching Curious George in PBS. We love Mommy's Fridays off!
