Tomatoes, Smiles, Cajun Dancing, & a Picnic

If you remember, about a month ago Paw-Paw Mike and I planted a garden in his and Grangie's backyard.  Our plants have been growing a lot!  I've had two small green cherry tomatoes on one vine for a few weeks now, and I've been checking them every day!  Well, Paw-Paw Mike and Grangie were at their Mississippi River Bridge House last weekend, and when Mommy went to check on things for them, she found that both my tomatoes were bright red!  She didn't tell me, but she sent them a picture from their phone.  A few hours later, they showed up in Baton Rouge.  Paw-Paw Mike said he had to be there for me to pick the tomatoes!!!  So Mommy and Daddy took me to their house.  Grangie told me I should check my plants, so I said sure.

That's when I spotted the bright green tomatoes.  Not one, but two of them!

They said it was okay, so I bent down to pick them each off of the plant, one at a time.

 Yay!  Two tomatoes!

Paw-Paw Mike and I grew them!

I took the first bite!  He let me eat them both. I told him when the bigs ones get red, I'm going to share them with him.

These were the best tomatoes ever!

Meanwhile, Madeline was just sitting around being her pretty little self.  So of course, Mommy took a few pictures!

Then I needed to check on the bird feeders to make sure they all had enough food for the birds.

Later on, Uncle Donald and Aunt Barbara showed up.

We all went to eat dinner together.  Madeline danced her first Cajun dance with her Parin! 

 The next day, I helped Grangie and Paw-Paw Mike with a lot of work in their yard.  We planted some more stuff and put in a fountain.  And we got "Nemo fish" for the fountain!  After all that work, Paw-Paw Mike grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs.  It was so pretty and breezy outside, we had a picnic!

It sure was a gorgeous fun weekend!

Mr. Easter Bunny

After our Easter Egg Hunt, Mommy, Mrs. Erin, and Mrs. Bridget took all us kiddos to the mall for lunch!  When we got near center court, and I saw the Easter Bunny, I was ready to go see him (much to Mommy's surprise)!  So Mommy capitalized on  my enthusiasm and we made an impromptu detour for a quick picture.  I even got one with my best buddy Aiden!  Madeline did great with him, too!  We all had awesome smiles!

Play-n-Pray Easter Egg Hunt

This morning we had our Play-n-Pray Easter Party and Egg Hunt.  It was LOTS of fun!  Mommy coordinated the planning, so we had to get there early so she and Mrs. Erin could hide the eggs.  Mrs. Lindsey was there, too, so she could entertain me, Aiden, Madeline, and her twin girls, Izzy and Sophie. 

We had some excellent snacks - all very themed, too!  Mommy made some really cute "Peeps" cookie pops.  They were a hit!

Aiden and Mrs. Erin brough yummy cupcakes, too!

Madeline was ready with her "My First Easter" shirt and carrot hair bow!

After all the eggs were hidden, and everyone had arrived, we all gathered on the steps outside and waited for Mrs. Lindsey to say "Go!" so we could hunt for eggs!

And then it was time and off I went!

Aiden was there, too!

Even Madeline got in on the egg hunting action in the special area reserved for the babies who can't walk yet.

Aiden had a ring in one of his eggs!

I got all kinds of fun toys in my eggs, and a little candy too!

Agnes, Mommy's friend Mrs. Bridget's little girl, joined us for her first ever Easter egg hunt at 5 weeks old!

Soccer Time!

Last Saturday, our Lowes project was a soccer-themed pinball type game.

Daddy and I had a great time making it!

Ducks, Turtles, and Fish - Oh My!

Last Sunday we all went to Gram's and Papa's for lunch.  They invited Grangie and Paw-Paw Mike to come, too.  It was gorgeous outside, so we spent most of our time there.  I got to feed the ducks, which is lots of fun.  The fish ate, too.  And we saw a few turtles!

While Papa was grilling our steaks, I got some coloring done.

Then it was back to feeding the ducks off the deck again.

They loved our bread we dropped to them!

Even Madeline got in on the dessert fun!  She loves ice cream.  :)

After lunch, I played with my trucks some more.

Then I went inside to find some Easter eggs Gram and Papa hid around the house.  They had m&m's in them!

A Hunting We Will Go.....!

Last Sunday afternoon was the St. Jude Easter Egg Hunt.  I was so excited to go, even though I had no idea what I was in store for.  Mommy got me and Madeline all cute in our precious (Mommy chose that word, not me!) new Easter outfits that Grangie made for us, armed us with adorable new Easter baskets with our names on them, and loaded us in the van.  All I knew was 1) I was going to hunt eggs, and 2) my buddy Aiden was going to be there!

I was really excited to see Aiden.  After all, I hadn't seen him in two whole days!  (Grangie made his cute shirt, too!)

 

We all gathered in the school gym.  Some girls walked around with these big baskets full of eggs and told us to each pick one egg from the basket.  First Aiden got his.

Then it was my turn.  I got one for Madeline, too.

And then it was time to hunt eggs!  Our age group got to look for eggs on the big wooden deck.  I did great!

Aiden did really well, too!

After all the eggs were found, we went back into the gym.  They asked everyone to count their eggs.  Daddy helped me count all of mine - 25 eggs!  Turns out, I had the most eggs out of all the kids that day across all the age groups!!  So my prize was a giant yellow egg filled with jelly beans!  (I'm not a big fan of the candy, but I've had fun playing with the big egg!)

Of course Mommy and Mrs. Erin insisted on a photo op!  Daddy and Mr. Scotty (Aiden's daddy) stood to the sides at-the-ready in case Madeline leaned too far forward.  It's pretty tough getting all three of us to simultaneously smile and look the same way.

But they attempted it a few times.

And it wasn't a whole lot easier with just me and Madeline, either.
