Play Time! (Who needs to sleep anyway?)

So, I've decided that it's really much more fun to stay awake most of the day. Usually I wake up around 6:30 AM. Mommy feeds me a bottle, then gives me a bath. I get to put on my play clothes. Then, when I'm being cooperative (most days!) I go back to sleep for a nap. I usually sleep about 2 1/2 hours. I eat again around 11 AM. Then, I don't want to sleep. It's much more fun to play!! Today, Mommy put my blanket on the floor with my chair and a lot of toys! We played for a long time. I laughed and cooed a lot. I wish I could say words, because there's a lot I want to say. I try, but no one understands me yet. Here are some pictures from our playtime today.

Here I am with the teddy bear Louie that Grannie and Paw-Paw made for me at the Build-A-Bear Workshop in Lafayette. I'm looking at it and smiling because Mommy just squeezed the bear's hand. They put a sound box in Louie's hand. When Mommy pushed it, I hear Grannie say "Grannie loves you!", then Paw-Paw says "Paw-Paw loves you!"
This way I'll always know their voices.

This was when I was laying on the blanket. I was cooing and talking to Mommy.

Here I'm just hanging out in my chair. No, it's not just an illusion - I do have big feet. I'm in Crawling Stage - Size 3 shoes. I outgrow shoes almost every two weeks right now!

Playing makes me really tired!!

After we played, Mommy and I went for a walk with our neighbor, Ms. Jen, to Starbucks. It was really sunny, so I had to wear my shades! I'm so glad my cousins Jenny and Nick gave these glasses to me!

More pictures!

Here are a few more pictures from my bathtime this morning. I was really happy and smiling a lot, so Mommy had to take pictures. Enjoy!

This is me after my bath. I was having a fun time laughing with
Mommy when she played peek-a-boo with my towel.

These are my new crayon PJ's Grannie and Paw-Paw bought me.
Can you believe they're a size 12 month??
I'm a fast growing little boy! (Okay, maybe not so little!)

2 Month Check-Up

Yesterday Mommy took me to see Dr. Castro for my 2-month check-up. Dr. Castro says I'm doing very well. I now weigh 16 lbs. 3 oz. and am 25 3/4 inches long. I'm not surprised - I'm wearing size 9 month clothes now! And I outgrew my fifth pair of shoes. When I was at the doctor's office, they gave me 3 immunizations. They hurt, but I only cried for a minute. When Mommy picked me up and cuddled me to her, I felt better and stopped crying. It was an exhausting day, so I slept most of that afternoon.

My favorite part of the day is my bathtime. I love feeling the warm water on me. And when Mommy rubs lotion on my tummy, it tickles and giggle and smile a lot. And I love being wrapped up in my hooded towels. They're so cozy and warm! We have a big mirror in our bathroom and I enjoy watching myself and Mommy and Daddy in the mirror. Here's a picture of me after my bath Sunday night laughing with Mommy and Daddy.

Sometimes Mommy and Daddy take me for walks around our neighborhood. Sunday afternoon we walked to the new shopping center down the street. Mommy and Daddy at dinner at Noodles. Here's a picture of me with Mommy at Noodles.

And sometimes I like to just hang out with Daddy on the couch while he's watching TV. Here's us doing just that - our shirts are even the same color!

We're back home!

I'm very sad that my trip to Louisiana is over. I had such a great time there. Hopefully we'll get to go back there very very soon!! I had a great time getting to meet all of my family and Mom and Dad's friends. Everyone was so nice to me. My favorite part of the trip was Parin's wedding. I even got to wear my very own tuxedo! Me and Parin were some handsome dudes! (That's what Grannie and Paw-Paw told me!) There's only one problem. Mommy didn't take any pictures at the wedding or the reception because she was too busy visiting with family, taking care of me, and being in the wedding. So... If you took pictures at the wedding, could you please email them to Mommy so she can put them on here for me? Her email address is kdmcdaniel (a) sbcglobal.net.

Tomorrow I have to go to my pediatrician for my 2-month check-up. I have to get my first round of vaccinations - I'm not looking forward to it. I hope it doesn't hurt too much. I'll let you know how it goes!

Finally!

Mom finally found time to upload some new pictures and update my webpage!! Okay, so she's been pretty busy lately taking care of me and traveling. I think I have more miles on me than Mom's car does!

A little over two weeks ago, Mom and Dad took me for my first airplane ride. I guess it was okay - I slept the entire time. They gave a bottle and wrapped me in my blanket - I was happy! The next thing I knew, we were in Oklahoma City. Parin, Aunt Emmy, Grannie, and Paw-Paw were there, too. At the family reunion, we got to meet all of Grannie's family. They're lots of fun. Everyone laughed a lot. And now I know where my red hair comes from. Half the people there had red hair.

Daddy flew back home the next day. Mommy and I rode with Grannie and Paw-Paw to Parin and Aunt Emmy's house in Ft. Worth. I slept some more in the car. I like being in the car a lot. We spent the night at their house. This was the first time I ever spent the night at someone else's house.

The next day we drove to Jennings. That's where Mommy grew up, and where my Grannie and Paw-Paw live. I'm staying at their house now. Grannie and Paw-Paw have Mommy and Parin's old crib set up in Mommy's old bedroom for me to sleep in. It's pretty cozy! They've been talking me to see lots of new people, and even more people come to Grannie and Paw-Paw's house to see me. Everyone keeps telling Mommy that I'm sooooo cute!! (But I already know that!)

Today they took me to get my pictures taken. It was fun. I think they got a lot of great pictures. Soon Daddy will be here - I miss him a lot! Then we get to visit Daddy's family. And after that, we get to go to Parin and Aunt Emmy's wedding!!! This weekend Parin and Mommy bought me a very special outfit for Parin's wedding. I now have my very own tuxedo - complete with a bow tie and tails! Me and my Parin are going to be soooo handsome together! Daddy and Paw-Paw get to we tuxes too! We're going to look great!

That's about all for now. Mommy put all the latest pictures in the slideshows to the right, so take some time to watch them and enjoy the pictures!

My Baptism

Today was a very big day for me. It was my baptism! All my family came to my house to visit us and join in this day. I got to meet my Aunt Leslie - she's my Mom's good friend from college and now she's my Godmother! And my Parin, Mom's brother, came back to see me, too. I also got to meet my other grandparents. Dad's mom is Gram, and his dad is Grandpa. Oh, and this funny guy also came - his name is Fr. Wayne. I'll tell you later about what he did to me today.

So, Mom and Dad brought me to church again today (I'm seeing a trend here!). But this time everyone came with us! And more of Mom and Dad's friends were at the church, too. Aunt Leslie held me at the beginning of Mass. That was when Fr. Wayne put some oily stuff on me. He called it the Oil of Catechumen. I was sleeping, so it really didn't bother me. Then Mom, Dad, Parin, and Aunt Leslie all made a cross on my forehead. I slept through that, too. Later, Mom and Grannie took me out of church and took all my clothes off and wrapped me in a big white towel. Then they brought me back into church. Fr. Wayne asked Mom, Dad, Aunt Leslie, and Parin a bunch of questions, then they took me to the back of the church. And that's when the fun started! Fr. Wayne took me out of my nice warm towel in Mom's arms and dunked me in the water -- not once, but three times! Mom wrapped me back up in the warm towel, then Fr. Wayne put a big handful of fragrant oil on my head. He lit a candle and gave it to Parin and Aunt Leslie. And finally, Mom, Dad, and Grannie took me back out of church to put some clothes on me. They put this white gown on me. It was my Mom's gown she wore when she was baptized 27 years ago! And guess where we went next?? Back into church again!

I slept in Mom's lap for a while. Then Fr. Wayne came back and took me from Mom. He showed me to all the people there and told them I was a new member of their faith community. Then he took my pacifier out of my mouth and gave me another one (and he kept mine!). I don't know why, but Mom, Dad, Parin, and Aunt Leslie all hated the new one he gave me. I don't think I liked it either, but they didn't give me enough time to find out. As soon as he could find another of my pacifiers, Parin switched it out for me. I haven't seen the other one since then, and I have a feeling no one ever will!

After Mass was over, we all went to another room. All the big people ate food. Lots of people looked at me, talked to me, and held me. I don't know who they all were, but they seemed pretty happy to see me. I humored them. And finally, I got to go home and take a nap! It was a long day! Have a look at some of the pictures from today...

This is when Fr. Wayne dunked me in the water.
At least it was warm water!
After he took me out of the water, he gave me back to Mom.

Then he put oil on my head.
Then he lit a candle and gave it to Parin and Aunt Leslie.

This is when he switched the pacifier.
I don't know what the big deal was.

I was smiling at Fr. Wayne when he took me from Mom.

This is when he presented me to the church.

Welcome to My Webpage!!

So, Mom finally found some time to work on my webpage. My fingers are just too short to use the keyboard right now. Plus, it's hard for me to hold my head up that long. They've tortured me with baths, taking pictures, going for walks outside, taking me to church, and shopping. Sadly, I can outlast Mom by 10 times! She gets so tired these days. All I have to do is lay comfortably in my stroller and I could go for hours! Just make sure someone changes my diaper within minutes of it getting wet or dirty. Oh, and don't forget to feed me about every 4 hours. I'm the happiest baby in the world. And not high maintenance at all!
Since they torture me by taking my picture all the time, with a flash of course, I'll share some with you here.
Here's Paw-Paw feeding me. As long as I get one
of these bottle things every 4 hours, I'm a happy boy!

Here's me with my Parin (Godfather). I was sad to see him leave.
His hair's the same color as mine! I guess that's where I get it from.

This is Parin again. He says he's going to marry
this girl soon, so they tell me she'll be my Aunt Emmy.
She's a funny girl. I like her already. She said she didn't like babies,
but I'm pretty certain she likes me.

They even take pictures of me when I'm
trying to get some sleep! Can't these big people
ever leave me alone!? But I am really cute here,
so I guess it's okay.

Here's my Paw-Paw feeding me. I like these bottles.
Paw-Paw likes feeding me. I think he's bored and it
gives him something to do. He retired and apparently
doesn't know what to do with himself now. Or at least
that's what Grannie says about him. How am I to know if
she's right - I'm only 10 days old!

This is me and my Grannie. She's funny.
She talks to me a lot. She tries to get me to smile,
and when I do she gets really excited.
(Don't tell her, but it's just gas! I'd hate to
burst her bubble - no pun intended.)

This is me with Mommy and Daddy's friends,
Eric, Amy, and Kayla. They came to visit me
at the hospital and brought me some cute clothes.
They seem to be pretty nice people.

Eeeww... I've already been kissed by a girl!!
Oh well, at least she's cute.
Don't I look incredibly handsome here??
Yep, that's what I thought! They dressed
me all up fancy this morning to take me to
church for the first time. This is a sharp
outfit my Grannie and Paw-Paw bought
for me. It has a choo-choo-train on it.
They like buying me clothes. And I must
be a pretty special baby -- I got blessed by
Cardinal Maida at Mass two times!

Ahh... bathtime! It's nice to just lay there
and have someone bathe me. These funny
pajamas are from Grannie's friend Shane.
I look like a chicken, don't I!? They're
cozy and comfy - and the chicken's fuzzy!

It's time to shake my tail feathers and say good night!
The End!
