A Visit from the Soo-P-Yes Man!

I love the Soo-P-Yes man!  (UPS Man)  And I love when he comes to my house!  So much so, that I asked Mommy to borrow her computer so I could "look and order something so the soo-p-yes man can bring it to me."  Mommy surprised me the other day and ordered something for me.  She got an email that is was being delivered, so she told me that he was bringing me a box that day.  He doesn't come 'til after dinnertime in our neighborhood, so I patiently waiting and watched.  Then he came!!  I got my box, waved by to him, and then had to immediately open my box!!

Baton Rouge Children's Museum

One day last week Grangie took us to the Louisiana Arts and Science Museum in Baton Rouge.  We spent most all of our time in the Children's Museum section.  We had lots of fun!  We got to play with a bunch of different toys, make some crafts, and 'cook' in the kitchen!  Even Madeline had some fun, too!

Fair Time!

Last weekend was the St. Jude Parish Fair.  And boy, was it fun!  I've never been to anything like it before (at least not that I remember), but I know I want to go again!  Friday evening, after Daddy got home from work and Paw-Paw Mike got into town, we all headed to the fair.  Mommy had made some cupcakes for the Sweet Booth that we had to bring.  So we decided to eat dinner there.  I got a corndog, and everyone else got either fried catfish or veggie pasta.  It was all yummy!

After we all ate our dinners, we walked over to where the rides were.  Tonight Mommy was going to ride with me!  We got our ride bands to ride.  Grangie, Paw-Paw Mike, Daddy, and Madeline walked around with us.  After a while, though, Grangie and Paw-Paw Mike took Madeline home because she was getting sleepy.  Mommy and I rode for almost two hours!  The pictures aren't the greatest because it was so dark.

We had a great time!  Saturday Mommy and Daddy were working the Silent Auction at the fair, so Madeline and I hung out at Grangie's and Paw-Paw Mike's house.  They took us to eat lunch with Mommy and Daddy at the Fair.  We went home for a nap, and after our naps they brought me back to ride some more!  This time Paw-Paw Mike rode a bunch with me.  I had a great time with them!!  I also got to play a lot of kiddie games, too, and won some fun prizes!

The fair was lots of fun!!  Thanks Grangie and Paw-Paw Mike for taking care of me and Madeline all weekend so Mommy and Daddy could help with the fair.  We had fun hanging out with y'all!

Spring Portraits 2011

Mr. Matt did an awesome job on our pictures!  Now Mommy & Daddy just have to chose which one they're ordering for over the fireplace!

Fun in the Afternoon Sun

Last week, Madeline and I were both sick. Mommy and Daddy took us to see Dr. Reed Tuesday (Yep, they were off for Mardi Gras.). She said I had a bad sinus infection, so she gave me a shot and an antibiotic. The shot hurt, but I was a brave boy! Dr. Reed said Madeline's ears were yucky inside and said it was a double-ear infection. She was really surprised at how sweet and quiet she was. She says most babies scream and cry a lot when their ears hurt. But Madeline was still smiling. I never had an ear infection, so I don't know what it feels like. Madeline also got an antibiotic, and we both got decongestants. So we didn't have a really fun week, but Grangie took really good care of us both. Off and on we both ran fevers, too. Then Thursday, Mommy's throat was hurting. She went to the doctor and he said she had strep throat - Antibiotic for her, too. So, by Saturday we all had cabin fever! I was feeling much better. Mommy and Madeline were better, too. After Lowes, Daddy was doing some work in the yard. Mommy took me and Madeline outside to sit on a blanket. I got to push my lawn mower around for a while. It was nice to enjoy the beautiful weather!

Silly Madeline

Sometimes Madeline just makes some silly faces!

Final Four?

This past Saturday was another Lowes Build-n-Grow Workshop day!  Soon I'm going to need a new apron because mine is getting really full of patches!  This Saturday, we made a basketball goal in celebration of March Madness and the NCAA Final Four coming up.  I don't know what that means, but I do know it meant I got to put a sticker on my basketball goal!

William Goes Green

One of my favorite Curious George DVDs is "Goes Green."

And I love the book The Perfect Carrot.  We read it almost every night.

They're both essentially the same story.  Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat decide to plant a garden.  They choose carrots.  So, after watching and reading both many times, I told Paw-Paw Mike that I needed to plant a garden at his house!  Daddy said we could do one at my house, but I insisted it had to be at Paw-Paw Mike's.  So a few weekends back, Daddy and Paw-Paw Mike went to Lowes and got the supplies.  I helped set it all up, then I got to plant my carrot seeds!

Now I cannot wait for them to grow!  We're seeing some little stems and leaves popping up now.  But Paw-Paw Mike said I have to wait about two months.  Two months!  That's nearly forever!

[Grangie and Mommy have a back up plan, though.  Fresh Market sells carrots with the stems and leaves still attached.  There may be some strategic planting in the future!]
