On January 21 I was exactly 20 months old. I can't believe it's only 4 months until my 2nd birthday! Mommy and Daddy tell me I'm growing way too fast! In the past couple of weeks, my vocabulary has exploded! Be careful what you say around me - I'm very likely to repeat it. I'm even saying "Grannie" (Finally!) which of course makes Grannie very very happy. :)
I've become very independent. I like to do almost everything for myself. And I'm allowed to for the most part, unless I'm either in danger of hurting myself or am close to making a huge mess (Little messes are tolerated.). I feed myself very well with forks and spoons - and just about any foods, too. I wash my own hair in the bathtub, wash my hands in the sink, pick up my toys when I'm told to, get my own clothes and pajamas out of my dresser and closet, zip up my own jacket, and hang it on my hooks when I'm done. I even help cook my scrambled eggs in the morning - breaking and "beating" the eggs in the bowl is my favorite part!
I'm getting very tall, too. In fact, I'm almost too big for my chair now!
And I'm a very silly boy, too! This is the lion Parin and Aunt Emmy gave me for Christmas. I like to walk around the house carrying it on my back. Everyone thinks it's funny, so I laugh, too!
I've been a very big help at cooking dinner lately, too. Here I'm helping Grannie crack and stir eggs to make meatloaf. I've even been "helping" with the dishes after dinner. The soap bubbles are so much fun to play in!
On a side note, Mommy's foot is doing much better. She went back to the doctor this week. It's healing very well. She no longer has to wear the boot or use the crutches; she just has a small thin brace about the size of a sock. And she can wear it with regular shoes, too. Daddy is still working hard at finding a new job since he was laid off a few weeks ago. Mommy and I have really enjoyed having him home with us and not having to travel so much. He's applied for a lot of advertised positions, so we're just praying that something works out for him really soon!
And of course we're looking forward to a Saints victory in the Superbowl this Sunday!!!
