Dying Easter Eggs

While we were at the birthday party, Grannie and Paw-Paw were at our house. They boiled 3 dozen eggs. When we got home, I couldn't help but want to touch them all on the counter. I got my stool, pulled it up close, climbed up, and peaked under the towel covering the eggs. Every time Mommy asked if I was touching the eggs, I'd quickly shake my head "no"! Only a few of the eggs were broken. ;)

After dinner Mommy covered our dining room table with a bunch of towels. Grannie poured some nasty-smelling vinegar into a bunch of colored cups and put some fizzy tablets in them all. We all sat down around the table with the colored bowls, boiled eggs, and some spoons. Grannie gave me the blue and green cups. She showed me how to lower the egg into the cup with the spoon. It did it very carefully.
But I very quickly discovered that my hands really helped the effectiveness and efficiency of the spoon!

The result: A beautiful green egg! (And lovely green fingers, too!)
