A Visit from the Easter Bunny

For weeks leading up to Easter, I told everyone who inquired about a visit from the Easter Bunny that I didn't want him to come to my house.  Sure, I understood it was just like Santa Claus -- I'd sleep and he'd sneak in and leave me presents to find when I woke up -- but the problem wasn't that I was scared.  My answer when asked was simply this:  "I'm all filled up with toys and clothes.  I don't need anything."  Not surprisingly, Mommy and Daddy agreed with me.  Even going to bed on Holy Saturday, I still insisted not having a visit from the Easter Bunny.  Mommy and Daddy seriously considered not letting him into our house that night, but decided against it.  I am only little once, plus it was Madeline's first Easter.

Easter Sunday, Mommy got us up and dressed us in our cute Easter outfits Grangie made for us.  All ready for church - and about 20 minutes early.  Just enough time to see what the Ole Hare had left for us.  I still insisted on not looking, but at Mommy's and Daddy's insistance moved in for a quick glance.  And boy, I found some cool stuff!

What's this?  An easel?  Hmm.... I don't have one of those yet...

Maybe I'm not so "filled up" after all... I'll just see what's in this basket with my name...

Oh wait, Madeline found her basket!  And straight for the snacks she goes!

I don't think she can eat those cookies with her spoon!

I needed to help her see the other things she got, like her Madeline Collection book!

Hmm.... she sure thinks she's cool!

I'm pretty critical of the Easter Bunny's choice of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
I think that's Daddy's favorite, not mine.

We sure did get all kinds of good stuff!
Looks like I'll be doing some cooking with Mommy now!
