Fall Photos

Paw-Paw and Grannie have Fall and Halloween decorations on their front porch. So, since I was all dressed up in my Halloween outfit, and tried on my Halloween costume, they took me outside to take pictures. And... take a look, 'cause you'll see what I am dressing up as for Halloween!

Friday Fun

Today was Mommy's day off, and Daddy flew home late last night, so I had them both home with me all day. Daddy still had to work, even though he was home. I helped him with his work so he could get done quicker.

I helped him type his emails.

And I thought you were supposed to eat a Blackberry -
It's a fruit, right?
Last night while Mommy was cooking, I sat in my high chair and kept her company. She gave me toys to play with. Here are a few pictures she took.

This evening Gram and Mr. Bob came over for dinner. It was really pretty outside, and cool too. I sat in the grass for a little while. Mommy took this picture. I'm sitting up on my own really well now!

Tomorrow we're heading to Jennings. We get to go to Trunk or Treat tomorrow night at Grannie and Paw-Paw's church. I get to see Fr. Wayne and Aunt Shane, too! I'm really excited about it! Check back Sunday night or Monday... Mom will post pictures of me in my Halloween costume.

Welcome to the World, Erin!

Mommy and Daddy's friend, Ms. Teresa and Mr. Greg, welcomed their new baby girl into the world yesterday. Little Erin was born at 8:05 am, weighs 7 lbs 3 oz, and is 21 inches long. I think she's a beautiful baby girl! She is quite adorable. When we go back to visit our friends in Michigan, I have another friend to play with. :o)

Welcome to the world, Erin!
And Congratulations to the new Mommy & Daddy!

Yummy Food!

As promised...
here are some pictures of me eating different foods.

Green beans are very tasty!

While Mommy eats, she lets me chew on a biter biscuit.
It's yummy!

After all that eating, I need some water!
(Yes, I really do drink ice water out of a glass!
And don't think you can fool me by not putting ice
in the glass - I know the difference!)

5 Months Old Today

Wow... the past five months have flown by -- Can you believe I'm already five months old? In that time, I traveled over 10,000 miles (mostly in an airplane), we moved 1,200 miles from our condo in Troy (Detroit), MI, to a new house in Baton Rouge, LA, and I've gone from wearing size 3 month clothes at 10 lbs. 9 oz. to wearing size 12 or 18 month clothes at about 21 lbs! This is a picture of me from Sunday morning after we went to Mass. If you look at older pictures on this blog of my sitting in my blue chair, you'll be able to see how much I've grown!

I'm now eating lots of vegetables. Sure, the books say I shouldn't try any "solid foods" before I'm 6 months old. But I've been eating cereal (rice and oatmeal) since I was about 2 months old. And for the past month or so, I've been trying different vegetables. I've now eaten (in this order) butternut squash, carrots, peas, green beans, and yellow squash. For the most part, I like them all. I tried bananas with my cereal, but didn't like that at all. I can sit up in my high chair very well, so that's where I get to eat now. Sure, I still get lots of formula every day, too - the nutrition is important for a growing boy like me! (No, Mommy doesn't have pictures of me eating my veggies yet - Usually her hands are pretty full with my bowl, spoon, and a washcloth. She's going to try to get one, though, and put it up here.)

Now that I know you're supposed to eat food, I think I need to eat everyone's food! When I'm sitting in someone's lap while they're eating, I open my mouth really big and try to eat their food right of the fork! Usually it doesn't work, but you can't fault me for trying! But I love ice water - probably because it's really cold and feels good on my gums. So if you hold me, and you're drinking anything in a glass, I'll grab the glass with both hands, pull it to my mouth, and drink your water! (It's very entertaining to see me do both - hopefully Mommy can get a video clip for me to post on here soon!)

I'm still rolling over a lot. I love to laugh! And my new favorite thing is to put my feet into my mouth. I do this especially in the bathtub. (I must like clean toes!) And I'm learning to make the pluuuuugghhhh sound with my tongue on my lips by blowing air. (Know what I mean?) I'm still working at sitting up on my own. If I'm supported I can stay sitting up for a long time. I can't do it all by myself yet, but it won't be long. I get stronger every day! I'm still sleeping through the night - usually from about 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Mommy and Daddy love that! And I'm starting to recognize my name, and when I hear someone say "William", I turn and look at them.

On Sunday I had lunch with Aunt Leslie. I sat in the high chair at Monjuni's all by myself! I'm getting to be such a big boy. :o) Aunt Leslie brought me a Halloween present - a really cute bib and a stuffed animal. I would have probably been happy with just the bright orange tissue paper, but when she showed me the animal I was excited! Here's a picture of me and Aunt Leslie from Sunday. (And yes, that's a New Orleans Saints jersey I'm wearing, courtesy of Grannie and Paw-Paw!)

Keep checking back often - hopefuuly we'll get some more pictures and video posted soon! And Sunday Grannie and Paw-Paw are taking me to Trunk-or-Treat at Fr. Wayne's church. I get to wear my costume for my very first Halloween event! So definitely check back after that to see what my costume is...!

Baking Brownies

This weekend I got to help Mommy make brownies! It was so fun. The best part was licking the whisk when we were done stirring the batter. Here's some pictures:

After baking brownies we played in my new bedroom. We played with my animal stacking toy Grannie and Paw-Paw bought me before I was ever born. When you shake the animals, they rattle. I had more fun trying to eat them. :o)

Then we went outside while Daddy cut grass. I was sitting in my stroller. I love being outside! I caught a glimps of the gas light by our front door and couldn't take my eyes off it!

And after all that hard work of baking brownies and cutting grass, I had to take a nap!

My New House!

Tonight Mommy and I took pictures of our new house. This is the front of our house:
Here's a picture of our living room. I'm sitting on the couch - can you see me?

And here's the kitchen - that's where Mommy, Daddy, and Grannie make all my bottles!

And this is the dining room. Can you see my seat on the chair? That's where I sit when I eat baby food. I've eaten squash, carrots, and peas. Oh, and cereal, too.

And we have a great back yard with a porch. Uncle Eric and Aunt Amy gave me a swing for my backyard and I love swinging in it!

Then we came inside and I played on my puppy toy mat. I'm rolling over now. I rolled over onto my tummy. I can really hold myself up well. The puppy sings and I really like watching it.

Mommy kept trying to get some video of my rolling over, but it just didn't happen when she had the camera turned on. Here are two cute ones that she did capture.

And then I did roll over. Here's me on my tummy. Mommy was talking to me, so I kept looking up at her and smiling.

And after a long day of playing with Grannie, taking a walk to Starbucks, then playing with Mommy all evening, it was time for my bath. I love my bathtime more than anything else! I get to hold one washcloth while someone scrubs my body. I like to such on the washcloth to get the water out of it. I think I'm starting to cut some teeth, and it feels good on my gums.

And after my bath, I get to put my pajamas on, drink a bottle, and go to bed!

Good Night!

Mmmm...Starbucks!

Today Grannie took me for a walk down to Starbucks. I love coffee! Just kidding, they really don't let me have coffee yet. But I'm back in South Louisiana, so Fr. Wayne and Aunt Shane already told me I can have some coffee milk soon. :o) Our house is in a subdivision, but it's only about 1 mile from a Starbucks. Mommy and Grannie tried going down there last night, but they forgot that I like my bath promptly at 7:30 every evening, so I had to get fussy to remind them. Eventually I convinced them to turn around and take me home. I don't know what they were thinking! But today, Grannie took me down there in the afternoon, way before bath time. It's okay to go then! Here's a picture of me with my (okay, Grannie's) frapaccino - yummy!!

If I cooperate tonight, Mommy's planning on taking pictures of our new house to put on here so everyone can see what it looks like. I really like it, and I hope you do too!
