More Fun with the Kipps & My Easter Weekend

Wednesday we spent the day in New Orleans. Daddy took a vacation day, so he got to join us. We all went to the Aquarium of the Americas. Kayla and I had a great time looking at all the brightly colored fish and other aquatic animals. Unfortunatly it was too dark to take too many pictures. However, there was a playground inside where Kayla and I got to get out of the wagon and stretch our legs. We had a good time playing on the big animals and crawling around the coral.

After the Aquarium, we walked around the French Quarter, took them through Jackson Square, and got beignets at Cafe du Monde. I was tired, and fell asleep in my stroller. But Mommy and Daddy got a great picture in Jackson Square. Isn't the sky a gorgeous bright blue here?

Wednesday evening and through the night I was running a low-grade fever, so Thursday morning Mommy decided to take me to see Dr. Reed. She thought I was probably just cutting a tooth, but with the holiday weekend approaching she wanted to be certain. And she was right. I checked out perfectly fine - and Dr. Reed confirmed that I have Tooth #8 (and possibly #9, though she wasn't 100% sure) coming in. So because of this, we unfortunately didn't get to join the Kipps at the Baton Rouge Zoo. We were sad, too, because Mommy and I were really looking forward to it. Instead, Mommy stayed home with me and I rested. But they were very sweet, returning with a stuffed hippo for me since I wasn't feeling well and couldn't join them!

When Daddy finished working Friday evening, we took the Kipps downtown to see the Capitol, the Mississippi River and levees, and went to Arsenal Park near the Capitol. Mommy and Daddy got some great photos! Friday evening we all went to dinner at Boutin's, a Cajun restaurant near our house with live music.

But alas, after our week-long visit with the Kipps they had to return to Michigan Saturday morning. Mommy has more pictures, especially some really cute ones of Kayla and me playing in the backyard that she'll post really soon.

After they packed their car and headed out on their 22-hour drive, we packed up and went to a crawfish boil with Daddy's family in Zachary. We got to see lots of people who all enjoyed watching me play and hearing me babble. There were so many people flashing their cameras taking photos of me, that Daddy and Mommy didn't bother getting our camera out of the bag. I get overwhelmed by too may flashes and Look over here's. So we don't have pictures from there to share on this post. Gram and Mr. Bob brought me a book with boat bath toys and a box of Goldfish for an Easter gift.

After leaving there, I fell asleep. I think I was just really glad to have Mommy, Daddy, and my house back to myself. I needed rest, too - it was a fun week with the Kipps, but I was exhausted! We had a quiet evening at home. Mommy and Daddy got our house back to normal, and they dyed Easter eggs. They planned for me to help them dye the eggs, but I fell asleep so they did it without me. That's okay though - next year I'll surely get to help!

Sunday morning we woke up and got ready for church. All the sweet ladies at St. Jude were so excited to see me all dressed up in my blue striped suit! I'm so handsome! When we got home from church, I took a nap. When I woke up I discovered some great things left for me by the Easter Bunny! I was too enthralled with all my goodies to look at the camera, so please pardon the pictures of the side of my head! (Daddy got some video of me finding my presents - Mommy will try to post that later tonight!)

I got a new "George" (AKA lion) rug for my bedroom, some jungle animals playmat squares, a shape sorter ball, new "George" brush and toothbrush, some pajamas, a few outfits, a beach towel, a bunny rabbit, a puzzle, some Gerber Graduates snacks, and a big carton of Goldfish (since I can't really eat candy). After I played with my new toys, we got in our car and headed to Lafayette to Aunt Jean's house to visit Mommy's family for Easter.

All of my cousins were at Aunt Jean's house. When I got there, I got to play with the Easter eggs Mommy and Daddy dyed. It was fun cracking them. And eating them!
It rained all afternoon, so we had to have our Easter egg hunt inside. So Daddy, all my cousins, and I sat in one room while everyone else hid eggs for us. Just like when Mommy and Parin were little, each egg had coins inside it. I even found a few eggs myself (with the help of Grannie and Mommy)!

And of course I had to shake my newly-found egg!

Then I got lots of Easter presents there, too! Aunt Jean and Uncle John gave me a new swimsuit, a beach towel, a hat, some bath toys, and other goodies. My cousins Janice, Thomas, Dylan, and Chandler gave me a stuffed chicken and some candies. Jenny and Nick gave me some chicken slippers. My cousins Jena, Jelani, Wyatt, Shayna, Garrett, and Elliot gave me a bucket with some Cheeze-Its snacks and other goodies. And my cousins Julie, David, CJ, and Katherine gave me some Gerber Graduates snacks. Parin and Aunt Emmy sent me a cow plate, snack cup, and utensils set. (We didn't get to see them at Easter, but they'll be visiting us this Friday!) Then Grannie and Paw-Paw gave me an Easter basket with all kinds of toys and snacks (mostly Gerber Graduates snacks).

My basket from Grannie and Paw-Paw had a new toy cell phone!

And more plastic eggs to shake!
And even though it's not Easter-related, Grannie was blowing bubbles with some gum, and I was trying to eat them!

Thanks to everyone who made my first Easter egg-stra (haha!) special!

Parin and Aunt Emmy, I can't wait to see you Friday!!
