Life after the Holidays

Well, Christmas came. And Christmas left. My "Elf on a Shelf" went home with Santa Claus. I took a nap one day, and when I woke up our tree was gone. The next weekend Daddy Jer took all the lights off our house. I was confused, and even a little sad. In fact, on Epiphany Sunday, when we were at Mass, I told Mommy I didn't want to come back to church again "because it's still Christmas here."

[Mommy's Note: There was no way I was going to attempt to explain that "Christmas" at church didn't end until after Epiphany. Otherwise I would have been going home to drag all my decorations back out of storage!]

Mommy spent half a day cleaning and reorganizing my bedroom. I have a fleet of 18 trash trucks. And that's just "big" ones. That doesn't include anything less than 6" long. There's at least a dozen of those! I have a great 'new room' to play in again. So we've just been hanging out, having fun.

Madeline is doing great, too. She's growing so much! When I come into the room, or go near her, or talk to her, her little sweet face lights up with excitement! She loves me as much as I love her! And she's a tough little cookie. She lets me (exhaustively) kiss her all I want! I give her all of Mommy's, Daddy's, Grangie's, Paw-Paw's... everyone's kisses! They're all for Madeline! And hugs, too. If someone wants one, I have to go 'get one back' from her to give away.

At her three month check-up, Madeline weighed 15 lbs. 8 oz. and was 26.5" long! Our pediatrician said she's super strong for her age, too! She was really impressed with her ability to push up on her arms and hold her head up so straight and tall when she's laying on her tummy, and will how great she can control her head when being sat up, too. She's perfectly healthy and growing at a very normal healthy rate! She's sleeping about 9 hours every night, too, which makes Mommy really happy!

Madeline likes to put her blankets and clothes in her mouth, so Grangie and Paw-Paw Mike bought her a Taggie for Christmas. She loves it! She grasps it really well, and loves to put the ribbon 'tags' in her mouth.

Here are a few pictures we took a few weeks ago, on a rainy Sunday morning after church. It was cold outside, so Mommy dressed us warm and cute. I changed into jeans, but was bribed to keep my sweater on for some pictures.
