And I just put it all in one pile. No, no... that would be too easy. See, each of my trash trucks is assigned a different kind or color of trash.
My big front loaders, the ones with the forklift on the front that picks up the big dumpsters, only gets 'brown trash' (those cardboard coffee drink sleeves). Mommy and Grangie can't take one drink of their coffees before I'm asking for the 'brown trash for my front loader'!
My little orange trash truck came with two small round gray cans with detachable lids. Those cans only get coins for trash. I have another one with a 'side loader arm,' and it only gets coffee beans. And one other only gets "white trash" (pieces of white paper, not to be mistaken for people). It's a delicate system.
At Grangie's and Paw-Paw's house I have a big cardboard box that I've dubbed as my landfill. All my trash goes in there. (I use it to store my trucks in, too.) I sort the trash, put it all in the different cans, then the trucks go and pick up the trash!
I tell everyone that when I grow up I'm going to be a trashman and drive a trash truck. I also say that Madeline is going to drive the little bitty recycle truck because it's smaller and she's going to be a trashlady. My favorite times are putting out our trashcans on Sunday and Wednesday evenings, and bringing them in empty on Mondays and Thursdays. I usually have to go do Grangie's cans, too. And I've been know to go put out other friends trash cans in our neighbrhood, too.
